Privacy Policy.

The Short Version

We run no third-party analytics, no advertising pixels and no cross-site trackers. We do not sell your data and we never will. The only personal data we hold is what you type into this site yourself, plus a record of which listings get clicked.

If you want everything we hold on you deleted, email hello@tradingbay.io and we will do it.

Who This Applies To

TradingBay (“we”, “us”) operates tradingbay.io and is the controller of the personal data described below. You can reach us at hello@tradingbay.io about anything in this policy.

What We Collect

If you create an account: your email address and password, handled by our authentication provider. Passwords are hashed by them and are never visible to us. You also get a display name and handle, and can optionally add a bio, a location, a website and social links — all of which are yours to fill in or leave empty.

If you join a waitlist or finish the quiz: the email address you give us, and which form it came from, so we know what you asked to hear about.

Content you create: reviews, posts, comments, community chat messages, journal trades and backtest sessions. Journal and backtest data is private to your account. Reviews, posts, comments and chat are public by their nature.

Outbound link clicks: when you click through to a firm, platform or course we record which listing it was, which part of the site you clicked from and the referring page. This is not linked to your account and we do not store your IP address against it. It exists so we know which listings people actually find useful.

If you apply to be listed or to become a partner: the contact details and profile information you put in the form.

What We Do Not Collect

No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no advertising or attribution SDKs, no session recording, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking of any kind. There are no third-party tracking scripts on this site. We do not ask for and do not want your payment details — you never pay us, so we never see a card.

Cookies

We use essential cookies only, set by our authentication provider to keep you signed in and to keep your session secure. There are no analytics or advertising cookies, which is why you are not seeing a consent banner. If you never sign in, no cookie is set for you.

Your browser may also store your own preferences locally on your device — for example a referral code you arrived with. That stays on your device and is not readable by us as a third party.

Why We Are Allowed to Hold It

Where you have an account, we process your data to provide the service you asked for. Where you joined a waitlist or newsletter, we rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Where we count outbound clicks, we rely on our legitimate interest in understanding which listings are useful — that data is not personally identifying.

Who Else Sees It

Our hosting provider and our database and authentication provider process data on our behalf in order to run the site. That is the whole list. We do not share, rent or sell personal data to advertisers, data brokers, or the firms listed on this site.

Some outbound links earn us a commission. Those links carry a tracking parameter that identifies TradingBay as the referrer — not you. Once you land on a third-party site, that company's own privacy policy governs what they collect, and we have no control over it. The same applies if you join our Discord: Discord's policy applies there, not this one.

How Long We Keep It

Account data stays until you delete your account. Waitlist and newsletter emails stay until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them. Applications are kept while we assess them and for a reasonable period afterwards. Aggregated click counts are kept indefinitely because they contain nothing personal.

Your Rights

You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict or stop processing it, ask for it in a portable format, or withdraw consent you previously gave. Email hello@tradingbay.io and we will action it. We will not charge you and we will not make it difficult.

If you are in the UK or EU and you think we have handled your data badly, you have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

Security

Data is held in an access-controlled database with row-level security, so your private records — your journal, your backtests, your account — are readable only by you and, where strictly necessary, by an administrator. Traffic to and from this site is encrypted in transit. No system is perfect, but we do not collect data we do not need, which is the most effective protection there is.

Children

This site is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, email us and we will remove it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will say so clearly rather than quietly editing the text.
