Why We Built This.
Choosing a prop firm means reading eleven sets of terms written to be skimmed. We read them so you can compare them.
What We Are
TradingBay is an independent comparison site for proprietary trading firms, and a community for the people who trade with them. We list the firms, their rules, their pricing and their payout terms in one place, in a format you can actually compare, so you can work out which one suits you before you pay anybody.
We are a publisher. We are not a prop firm, a broker, an introducer or a financial services provider. You never buy anything from us and we never hold your money.
How We Make Money
Some of the outbound links on this site are affiliate links. If you sign up with a firm after clicking one, that firm may pay us a commission, at no extra cost to you — and often at a discount, because we negotiate codes.
You should know that up front, because it is the obvious place a site like this goes wrong. So here is the part that matters: a commission does not buy a rating. Firms cannot pay to be scored higher, cannot pay to have a bad rule removed, and cannot pay to have criticism taken down.
Why Some Listings Earn Us Nothing
A number of the firms we list have no affiliate arrangement with us at all. We list them anyway, because leaving out a firm traders are actively searching for would make the directory less useful, and a comparison site that only shows you the firms that pay it is not a comparison site.
How We Rate
The TradingBay Rating is an editorial judgement, not an automated output. We weigh independent review scores, payout terms, profit split, how punishing the rules are, and how long the firm has been operating. It is our opinion, formed from published information, and we show our working.
Where the Facts Come From
Firm data is taken from the firm's own terms, payout policy, pricing pages and help centre, and cross-checked against independent review platforms. Each firm page carries the date it was last verified and how many sources were used.
For news we use primary sources, established trade press and regulators. We do not republish affiliate blogs, coupon farms or press-release syndication, which is where most of the bad information in this industry comes from.
What We Will Not Do
We will not invent review counts or star ratings we do not have. We will not publish a payout leaderboard we cannot verify. We will not call a firm “shut down” without evidence, because that is somebody's business and somebody's money. And we will not run an advertising network over the top of your data.
